Quality Materials. Sustainable Process.
Choosy. Meticulous. Uncompromising. When it comes to Zkano's materials and manufacturing, these all apply. Starting with the highest quality materials, like organic cotton that is dyed with low-impact dyes. Certified organic cotton is grown on farms in the Southern U.S. by farmers they actually know. After harvest, the cotton travels to the Carolinas where it is spun and dyed before arriving at Zkano's mill in Alabama.
Zkano knits socks in very small batches at their family owned and operated mill. Their team of ten (including Mom and Dad) run the manufacturing process from start to finish. And, because the entire operation is under one roof, they're able to constantly monitor quality through each step of the process, minimize waste and deliver a stellar product. They do it all because a better process makes a better sock.
Zkano keeps it all close to home. Packaging, labels and marketing materials are printed within a small radius of the mill in Alabama and Georgia.
Giving and Recycling. Zkano's irregular socks are donated to homelessness shelters and community organizations in Alabama.
Some socks are not fit for donations. These, along with any manufacturing waste, are repurposed or recycled. When recycled, these are transformed into fiber used for carpet padding in the automotive industry.
Zkano can recycle your old socks too! For more info, please see zkano Recycles page.
